Jewels

I've recently become obsessed(!) with huge, chunky necklaces, so when I discovered these pieces by Shourouk, I ogled them for quite a long time. The Gilda is my favorite, hands down. See more necklaces, including some bracelets (equally bling-y!), here.

Two and Twenty Days of Christmas

*This will be a sticky post until New Year's Day. NEW posts are below this one!

I know, I know, I've been Ms. Slacky Slackerson around here lately...and this might actually be the last post of 2012 (don't throw things at me). I've been really busy lately, but I'd never skip this year's Two and Twenty Days of Christmas. So if you're lacking gift inspiration this holiday season, check out this mixed bag of a guide I've curated. It ranges from the quirky and imaginative to functional and basic. Menswear-inspired looks have made the cut as well (dear God, I need that Jackalope sweater in my life). And can I just say, private Pinterest boards are the best thing that ever happened to this post. So without further adieu........enjoy.

It'll come back around

Etiquette on Etsy has a bunch of toggle hoods for sale, and these four prints are my favorite. I've not come across hoods like these anywhere (or hoods at all, really), and I think they're pretty cool. That navajo print is very on-trend and makes a perfect pop of color. And then there's this men's vintage (!!!) Pendleton wool pea coat below, which is just...I mean, one of you seriously needs to buy this.

Right up my alley

I'm not much of a "serious" jewelry person, but the few little trinkets that I do own, you'll notice a theme: I love animal jewelry. I neeeeeed these. (and yes, I know, number four is a dude)

Laser cut's the way to go

Madeline Trait is showing us that laser cut is the way to go when it comes to chic, fun party decor. The cake decorations below, for example, are made of a thin wood veneer and can be used as toppers, or wrapped around like a delicate cage.

Ladies & Gentlemen

The icing on top of the proverbial cake that kitchen and home decor shop, Ladies & Gentlemen Studio, serves up is the way they choose to style their product shoots. My favorite in the shop? The Nyth fruitbowl (pictured below), made with random splatters of color-stained stoneware clay. It's made to mimic a bird's nest.

That little bit of magic

I shouldn't be allowed on 1stdibs. I end up wanting everything, but can afford literally nothing. I do get struck by art there every once in a while, though. Recently by these Yolanda Sanchez paintings. (1 / 2 / 3)

Atelier Beau Travail

I recently discovered these sweet embroidered clutches from Atelier Beau Travail. I'm smitten with the texture. Lots of other cute stuff in there, too, including some jewelry, lamps, and tops. And I really like the way they styled their product photography. Check out their header below:

Pink Friday

A pouch by Blackbird and the Owl made an appearance on the blog once in an It's in the Bag post. Here are some cute pink options for your Friday :) Have a good one.

Everyday

Every single day, if I could. We all have a summer/early fall go-to outfit. Some variation of this was/is mine. One really can't have enough stripes, flats, and crossbody bags. Accessorize further as needed.

Pink Friday

I actually featured the work of this artist, Lisa Golightly, in yesterday's post as well. You can buy this print right here. Have a great weekend!

It gets dark

Let's not discount the power of black and white. 1 / 2 / 3 (<--Pssst. That last one's a print you can buy!)

Goodbye, Summer

I say, as it hits 90. It's been a hot summer all around, I'm fairly certain. And while technically it won't be over till past the middle of next month (but who's counting?), the kids are back in school, and we are getting a few (read: one) chilly days here and there. It's fall, y'all, so here are a few transitional sweaters (wear 'em with shorts while you still can!): 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

Cardboard Cities

Oh, you should know by now, I love collages. Here are some by Laura Redburn of Cardboard Cities. Aaaand, you can buy them as prints, right here.

Matchpoint

Krista Charles makes these Matchbook Landscapes by finding the businesses on Google Maps, then draws a pencil sketch of what she finds on the inside flap. These tiny treasures sure are charming!
