Two and Two

I haven't done a Two and Two in a while, and this one's set up a little differently so you could really check out the detail in each of these. First off, let me say, I love pyrite. Ten years ago I had a small collection of crystals. Some faves included raw heavy pyrite, sparkling citrine, lapis lazuli, and some sort of weighted metallic grey thing, I forgot what it was called. I really wish I had saved them because they would have made some stunning jewelry today. Anyway, enjoy. All sources listed below.

A Moveable Feast

From Le Portillon on Flickr. Check out her blog. She's a gal about my age (just a smidge younger) and she just moved to Paris from Stockholm. Macarons make an appearance on the first page. Yes, this must be love.

Basket of kisses

Via From Me To You, who makes the best gifs. I'm having a really makeup-y day; maybe I'll buy some lipstick later. I'm thinking coral (NARS Niagara comes to mind).

Not that I would...

Well ok, fine, maybe I would. Least now I know how to.

Under my umbrella

Two pics discovered on Bri Emery (designlovefest)'s Pinterest. One of my fave blogs, by the way. Love, love, love, the "love fest".

Pink Friday

It's pink (and grey, and white)! Yet again. Re-imagined album covers by Richard Perez. See more; check out his photostream.

Two Too Pretty

Queens of noise. Come and get it boys.

An Albino dress after my own heart (dots, feathers, and chevrons?!), plus a sequined collage by an old fave. Links below. (And yes, The Runaways has been playing on Starz all week, so please excuse me for having that song stuck in my head.)

ETA (April 1st): Starting tomorrow, "Two Too Pretty" will be a recurring feature on the blog. So when you click on the pretty little box to the left that says "Two Too Pretty" there's gonna be more than one post on here, m'kay? So what is "Two Too Pretty"? It's basically a dress (or some other gorgeous outfit) paired with an equally lovely piece of art. Because inexplicably, I tend to stumble upon unrelated things that really go together. Okay, enough of that, have a good one, and as always, enjoy the eye candy!

Gifty-poo

I don't remember when I made this, but I just found it while sifting through school work. Compiled from odds and ends textures and a free Photoshop brush. It's a 1280 x 800 res desktop wallpaper. Take, take, take. (Click image for hi-res)

Life as a house

Studio photographs from Studio Toogood. What life must be like living under a veil of gossamer. Makes me feel small and sleepy, and reminds me of this. Looks like a great place to have a fashion shoot, but honestly, any human intrusion would ruin the quiet magic going on here.

Cities

Doesn't the first one remind you of Inception? Cue the ominous music. The second is local, the view from the sky deck of the former Sears Tower (now Willis Tower; it's still weird to say that). Sources below.

Miles behind me

Softness all over. You ever been to the beach in late spring or late fall, just to sit around or take a stroll? Cold and foggy by the water, warm and wet everywhere else. It feels kind of gross, and it's absolute hell on your hair, but man oh man is it beautiful in photographs. I reckon it's because the sun is never out full blast. Check out the lovely below, from photographer, Fabio Bartelt for Marie Claire. I love the soft color palette, not to mention the flower skirt!

Crimson and Clover

I don't know why it took me this long to post about B H L D N, Anthropologie's new bridal line which launched on Valentine's Day. Better late than never, right? When (or if, yikes!) I get married, a few key pieces will definitely be coming from here. Love their jewelry line, as well as their hair adornments. Anyway, I'm in a colorful mood (and need to prove to myself that red can be done right at a wedding), so above are just a few lovely things from the store, plus other stuff that's not crimson or clover below. Please give em a visit (if you haven't already) to check out more.

Morange

Was this really 1966? Because I swear, this was me like two days ago (except a little brighter, if it's possible!) Vintage Dior ad, via her famed warm gun.

Pom wonderful

From The Vamoose's "making plans" album on Flickr. The pics below are from her handmade jewelry line. Absolute love. I think at this point, I'd be willing to wear a dress made entirely out of pom poms (Lady G, anyone?). I've been posting and compiling pics from The Vamoose's favorites album recently; such a great collection of light and airy inspiration.

Into the wild

We've had a series of girly, fluffy days. This post if fluffy in a different way. From My Little Underground's photostream on Flickr (Bluebirds and Barn Swallows). Do you not want to pinch this little booger below?

Rainbow brite

I haven't had a good cupcake/pastry/any kind of decadent dessert in a long time. This is something I say a lot. It's sort of a princess-y thing to do when you're feeling down. At this point I am this close, this close, to just ordering a dozen or so macarons online from this little French pattiserie downtown because I can't actually make my way over there right now. And I would, but see, part of the joy is actually standing in front of the glass and individually picking them out yourself.  Anywho, if you're going to have an all out princess-y day and have easy access to fresh macarons, might as well go all out with some matching decor! (Now if you'll excuse me, I have to stop looking at this before I cry)

Pink Friday

Is it Pink Friday again? Why yes, yes it is! From the Flickr photostream of Alexander Rhys Boardman. Can you believe someone actually threw this chair out? Thank goodness someone else had the sense to rescue and share this beauty. Also, pink velvet reminds me of red velvet, which makes me want a cupcake. I am long overdue.

Foodie love: Sweetapolita

One day short of Pink Friday. But come on, are you really gonna knock me for giving you pink when it's just so yum? All from Sweetapolita. And while you're at it, check out Sweetapolita's Flickr photostream and blog for more sweet goodness. I just love looking at pictures of food, don't you?

Black Swan

Tell me your mind didn't go there when you saw some of Jason Wu's dresses for his Fall 2011 collection. I'm loving these polka dot tights swan number one below is wearing. I have a darker set, but the lighter toned ones have been making an appearance, especially on Monique Lhuilier's runway. Also, the "dotty-ness" of those tights reminds me of a certain scene, which I won't spoil here, but you know what I mean.

From Mark Weaver's Make Something Cool Everyday (2008-2009). Too cool. I've been admiring his work for a while now.
